JBA Bentley has recognised the achievements of undergraduate engineers at Leeds Beckett University by presenting prizes and certificates to some of the highest-performing students.
JBA Bentley is committed to maintaining a flow of early careers talent into the organisation. We have a proud history of supporting local schools and universities, where we aim to open students’ eyes to the exciting world of engineering, inspiring the engineers of tomorrow.
In recent years we have joined forces with the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing at Leeds Beckett University to chair the Industrial Advisory Board.
As well as affording us the opportunity to speak to the students about working in the field of engineering, we have recognised the achievements of some of the highest-performing students with prizes and certificates.
Award winners in 2021 were:
Hayden Lockhead – The JBA Bentley Prize for the Best Dissertation on BSc/BEng Hons Civil Engineering
Jordan Hilliard - The JBA Bentley Prize for outstanding performance in Hydraulics & Water Engineering
Hayden Lockhead - The JBA Bentley prize for the most improved student
Luke Hawkins - The JBA Bentley Prize for outstanding performance by a Degree Apprentice Student
JBA Bentley director, Ian Bester, said, "Well done to everyone who picked up one of the JBA Bentley awards this year. The standard of the students’ work continues to impress us.
“Our link with the School of Built Environment, Engineering and Computing is important to us; the skills gaps in engineering and construction is well publicised so we hope that by linking to schools and universities like this – and speaking to students - we can help showcase what a fantastic industry this is and even see some of them join the JBA Bentley team as graduates or in the future.”
